So what happens when you employ a garden designer? It can be a daunting time, staring at your old garden and wishing it could be transformed into something beautiful. You know you need the services of a garden designer, but possibly have no idea what's involved in getting from the blank canvas to the finished product. Well, the first step is the same whether you've got a small courtyard or a country estate - just a simple phone call or email. There are a few basics that it's worth discussing at the first contact before we go any further - things like the location, size and orientation of the garden, any specific problems or needs, any specific likes or dislikes and of course an idea of your budget. Money is always a tricky subject but we need some idea of what's achievable - landscaping 5 acres for £5,000 would be a challenge. Assuming all is well, the next step
is the initial consultation.
