Suburban Surrey Garden

An awkward site where most of the garden is hidden from the house by the combination of the garage and the slope. The clients were looking for a family friendly garden with rich planting which would allow for both entertaining and quiet relaxation.

PURE garden design's solution includes a courtyard area close to the house with casual seating on the edges of raised beds, leading to a patio (shaded by the garage), a usable lawn space and finally a quiet wooded retreat.

A further demand of this project was that the clients wanted to take on the bulk of the construction work themselves, so all features needed to be designed to allow for construction without specialist equipment or skills.

Work on site began in early summer 2004 and completed in Spring 2005.
